Drivers in South Florida got a surprise from out of the blue this morning.

A small plane made an emergency landing on a road.

The single-engine plane landed on a dirt road just off US Highway 27.

That's south of I-75 in Broward County.

The Sheriff's Department says the pilot was the only person on board and he wasn't hurt.

He told deputies that he had mechanical trouble and made what he called a forced landing.
