High Speed Chase
Posted: 8:52 PM Apr 12, 2012
Reporter: Ashley Edlund
A police chase that started in Enterprise ended in Ozark this afternoon.
Just before 6 o'clock, Enterprise police responded to a shoplifting at the super Wal-mart.
The shoplifters fled the scene, refusing to stop when officers tried to pull them over.
Authorities pursued the suspects north on highway 27 towards Ozark.
When the suspect reached the highway 231 intersection, he was unable to stop and slid through the stop sign out onto the roadway.
That's where another car struck him on the driver's side.
The driver and passenger of that car were taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect was identified as Desmond Collins of Troy.
He's been charged with felony second-degree theft, reckless driving driving with a revoked license and felony attempting to elude police.
