Toddler Hit By Gunfire

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) -- Police were continuing to investigate what led to a toddler and a woman being hit by gunfire in the Gate City area.
WBRC-TV reports that the shooting happened around 8 p.m. Saturday. The 2-year-old, who was shot in the leg while playing in the yard, was taken to a hospital. Birmingham police Sgt. Thomas Ryan says the toddler is expected to recover from the gunshot wound.
