"Shake & Bake" Meth Problem on the Rise

The meth problem is getting bigger in our area, especially since making the drug has become easier.

(Dothan, AL)--According to Police, now-a-days drug users are making meth to-go with the help of a simple plastic bottle.

All cookers need are some house-hold ingredients and few empty bottles to make "Shake and Bake" meth just about anywhere.

"This method is allowing people to make meth in as little as 45 minutes," Houston County Sheriff's Office Investigator Rick Clemmons said. "We see people gather ingredients and mix them in bottles as they're driving down the road," he said.

Police said this method can be more dangerous than using an ordinary meth lab, and flammable.
The maximum sentence for making and distributing meth can be up to 99 years in jail.
