FORT BENNING, Ga. (AP) - Armor artifacts from the Patton Museum
of Cavalry and Armor at Fort Knox, Ky., are due to start arriving at Fort Benning on Wednesday.
The items include tanks, big guns and other vehicles dating from
World War I.
The Armor School is being relocated to Fort Benning later this year.
The Army says more than 200 artifacts will be moved in multiple shipments through the end of the month and will be stored until they can be displayed in a new location.
Soldiers from the 233rd Transportation Company, which has
deployed to Iraq multiple times, are moving the artifacts to the
storage facility.
