Siren Testing in Dothan

If you happened to hear sirens during your lunch-time commute today, there was no cause for alarm.
The severe weather alert sirens were being tested.
The test began at noon.
The sirens are tested periodically to ensure they are properly working, something emergency management officials say is vital. Emergency officials say we are preparing for what could be some possible activity from tropical depression Ernesto.
