Early County Middle School teachers have a reason to celebrate. The school's test scores rank among the highest in Georgia. They beat some major metropolitan areas in the state, including Atlanta.
This is the eighth year the school performed at an above average level. Teachers say their success can be attributed to the attention and care they give to students.
"We have a vigorous curriculum and I use a lot of differentiation strategies with my kids because not all kids learn the same," Teresa Mitchell, English Teacher said.
The scoring rubric was changed this year, making it more challenging to score high. ECMS scored an 86, the state benchmark score is 73, making them much above the state average.
