The inmates have been identified as Terrance Davis and Colin Wright. Davis is being held on charges of aggravated assault, aggravated cruelty to animals, and criminal attempt to commit a burglary.

Wright is being held on 3 counts of burglary.

Officers say a weak fence allowed Davis and Wright to make their get-away during recreational time. Both now face additional charges of felony escape and other charges.

Early County Sheriff William Price says a faulty fence is what allowed the inmates to escape.
"We had the inmates out on detail recreation. Two of the inmates got a hole in the fence. They used their hands to pry it open and slipped underneath as my guard turned his back to get ready to bring them in. We have an old fence here. It's kind of outdated but we're going to upgrade it a little bit."

Inmates patched the fence Tuesday.

Sheriff Price says both inmates have upcoming court dates and were afraid of the outcome.

UPDATE -- The missing Early County inmates are back in custody. They were recovered after being loose for nearly 90 minutes.

BLAKELY, GA - The Early County Sheriff's Department is searching for two escaped inmates.
