Rabid Raccoon Found in Jackson County

A raccoon received by the Jackson County Health Department has tested positive for rabies according to lab results recently received from the Department of Health Pensacola Branch Lab. The raccoon fought with a dog on White Ave., inside the City of Graceville. The dog has been quarantined to prevent possible spread of the disease.

Student Financial Aid Forms to See Changes for 2014-15

For the first time, students applying for federal financial aid won't be asked the name of their mother or father. Instead, the Department of Education is replacing the gender-specific terms with more generic ones officials said better reflect the changing nature of the American family.
