Dothan Police to get Digital In-Car Video Camera Systems

Tuesday Dothan city commissioners agreed to apply to the U.S. Department of Justice Grant program.

The grant will allow the departments to buy digital in-car video camera systems.
The grant is for more than $40,000.

About $32,000 will go towards the city's police cars and a little more than $8,000 will go towards Houston County.

"What these will do is replace some of our analog systems that are out of date and use the old VHS type of video, So these digital cameras will replace so of those, we try to do this every year with this grant," said Dothan Police Chief Greg Benton.

Seized funds up to $3,600 will cover any extra expenses the city runs into.
