Wiregrass for Humanity Dedicates 122nd Home

Nearly a year after a tree destroyed his home from high winds, Buddy McKenzie finally holds the keys to his new home.

"I've never been through anything like this and never thought I would ever have to go through it. But like I say with habitat-they helped out with everything."

Buddy says he's now blessed knowing he has somewhere to live and call his own. Volunteers from several local churches helped raise the walls for the home.

"It was a blessing. It was God's will to give me a talent as a carpenter and he put my experience to help someone else and my friends-all of us helped do it," says Charles Adams.

And Buddy himself was right there with them-a true labor of love.

"I did the hours. I enjoyed it and like I say, I will continue to do it-because you know-I fell in love with it."

Through donations of money and materials and volunteer labor, Buddy can open the door to new memories in the walls of his home, built with love.
