Wiregrass Residents Hurry to Get Powerball Tickets

“My dad won the lottery in 1993 fantasy five. “ Lottery player Robert Bickford said.

This is the reason Robert Bickford believes in luck.

“I drove him to Tallahassee. He won 32 thousand dollars.” Bickford said.

Bickford, along with many other residents from the wiregrass, went to pick up their lotto ticket for Wednesday night's two-hundred and sixty million dollar drawing.

“The church needs a new van so we want to see if the lord will deliver.” Joe Gustofson said.

And they say if he does, they'll use the rest of the money for other expenses.

“Pay off some bills. That’s it pay off some bills.” Joe and Tara Gustofson said.

“I heard the Powerball was quite high, and so we are up here, and have a lot of debt, and was like you never know.” Bickford said.

And it’s a chance Bickford is willing to take.

Lottery players contribute about 5 billion dollars annually, some of which goes toward education in Florida.
