DOTHAN, AL - Wiregrass girls continue to rock in Dothan.
A summer retreat was held for teens at the Holiday Inn.
There were two days full of fun in the pool, a pajama party, pampering for the chaperons and empowering seminars for the teens and moms.
"The girls are having fun, but not only are they having fun, they are learning values and being validated," said chaperon Andrea Scott.
The teens learned about developing healthy relationships in dating, and the mom were taught more about communication with their teen.
"It's fun, and we learn things in a fun way that sticks with you," said Jeserica Brinson, 14.
"I think I definitely learned a lot about the kind of things I can talk to my younger neices and other girls their age about," said chaperon Nursen Ogutveren.
The retreat was sponsored by the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, members of the Wiregrass Girls Rock committee in partnership with Up-Teens and Virtue Girls, as well as Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
