5-years-ago... Torrential rains caused major water damage in Geneva and Houston counties.
In March 2009... Geneva County EMA personnel reported several areas received 17-inches of rain in just a few days.
it resulted in "flash" floods in the city of Geneva.
The wiregrass received several million dollars in FEMA assistance.

The March 2009 weather event led to the replacement of a half-dozen "old" wooden bridges with newly- designed concrete structures in Geneva County.
