Wiregrass Archives Moves to New Location

Troy University's Wiregrass Archives has a new home.

Back in August, the archives moved to a larger location on the first floor of the library building on Dothan's campus.

The Archives is open to the public.

Mon. - Thurs., 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Fri., 8 a.m. to noon

The new location includes a reading room and a system of movable shelves which doubled the archive's storage capacity.

The repository houses a variety of records dating back to the 1800s.

"That's the greatest good we can serve, and that i think we do serve is to help retain that social memory," said Dr. Marty Olliff, Director of The Wiregrass Archives.

The reading room is named in honor of former Congressman Terry Everett. He provided a grant that supported the move.
