Losing a loved one can take a toll on a family. This is when the Wiregrass Angel House steps in to help. It is an organization formed in 2004 that assists families with not only grief, but funeral arrangements, crime scene clean-up, crisis intervention and death notification.
"There is no closure in a homicide ever, because you want your life to be like it was prior to the victimization, and it never will be. So what we try to work with, is to teach them a new normal," Shelly Linderman, Director of Wiregrass Angel House said.
The organization used to be a part of V.O.C.A.L, which stands for Victims of Crime and Leniency, before branching off and become their own entity. Their creed they try to always exercise is "remember, reflect, and rebuild."
