Wintry Weather Brings Business to Area Grocery and Hardware Stores

Today was a busy day for grocery and hardware stores.

Today shoppers could be seen stocking up on the essentials.

Piggly Wiggly Manager Alan Hagler says water, milk and bread were the top sellers.

He says business has been great since people heard about the winter weather.

Around the circle at home depot their employees are seeing the same.

They still have some generators in stock but ran out of firewood and heaters.

"It is a little bit of a change of pace because usually this time of year is a slow time for us. Then when the weather starts picking up the storms usually happen in the spring, not the winter. But we are prepared," Home Depot Manager John Cassel said.
