Weather Impacts Alabama Democratic Office Opening

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) -- The Alabama Democratic Party's opening of a field office in Birmingham has been impacted by wintry weather.

The party planned to have an outdoor ceremony Thursday afternoon to cut the ribbon on the office in downtown Birmingham, but party executive director Bradley Davidson says that had to be moved indoors due to the bad weather. A reception following the opening was canceled.

The new field office in Birmingham is an addition to the party headquarters in Montgomery.

Jefferson County and Montgomery County were two areas where the party did well in the November election.
