Washington County Prepares for the Worst


Washington County Emergency Management is not taking the threat of flooding lightly. With the recent flooding that occurred over the course of the spring, they want to make sure residents in the Panhandle are prepared.

Lynne Abel, Public Safety Director encourages residents to evacuate if they feel threatened by rising flood waters.

Residents like Stevie Coatney are used to the frequent flooding in the area, and urge people to go to higher ground if flooding is suspected.
Officials say if you have a well, it is best to boil your water if you feel it has been contaminated.
