The accident has been described as one of the worst civilian disasters in the u-s ... During the war.
In August of 1944 ... An army air corps bomber on a training mission from Eglin ... Accidentally dropped its payload on the Cosson home.
4 people were killed ... 5 others seriously injured.
In 1980 ... Congress passed a bill providing an annual payment to survivors.
