The uncle is out of surgery and expected to recover.
The case is still open and under investigation.

Investigators and crime scene technicians are currently on scene at a shooting that occurred this morning around 8 a.m. at 218 Grantham Lane, Santa Rosa Beach, FL.
Details are limited at this time, as investigators are still gathering information from witnesses and processing the crime scene. According to information gathered, an argument between a nephew and uncle that started last night and continued this morning was the spark that led to the shooting. The nephew shot his uncle an undisclosed number of times, left and called 911 from another relative’s home stating that he had shot his uncle and wanted to turn himself in.
Deputies arrived on scene, along with EMS who transported the uncle to the hospital. He was then transported by life-flight to Baptist Hospital in Pensacola. His condition is unknown at the time of this press release.
