Dothan, Ala. – Wallace Community College will unveil its most recent teaching technology – the Virtra V-300 Law Enforcement Simulator – during a press conference on Friday, April 25 at 10:00 a.m.
The Virtra V-300 is a decision-making simulation and tactical firearms training tool. There are five 10’ x 7.5’ screens that envelope the student or law enforcement officer in a 300-degree environment. The simulator comes with different scenarios for specific training, such as active shooters, hostage situations, skill drills, traffic stops, and many others. Simulations can be programmed for situational changes to accelerate use-of-force training. Jason Owen, Criminal Justice instructor, will conduct two demonstrations of this dynamic simulator during the program.
Wallace Community College is the only college in Alabama to implement a virtual law enforcement simulator. WCC is the third entity in the state to own a Virtra V-300.
