Volunteer Fire Departments Respond to a Cotton Gin Fire

Taylor - Volunteer fire departments responded to the Wiregrass Gin Company at about 4 a.m. Friday.

Officials say a warehouse caught fire, but they aren't sure what started it.

Dana Watts, Taylor Volunteer Fire Department Assistant Chief, said fires at cotton gins are more common this time of year because it's harvest season.

Agencies from Taylor, Rehobeth, Wicksburg and Southern Junction worked to contain the fire until about nine Friday morning.

They spent the rest of the day battling hot spots.
