Victim in Fiery 231 Crash Identified

MIDLAND CITY, AL - The victim in a fiery crash on Highway 231 just north of Troy University's Dothan campus Tuesday night has been identified.

Authorities say 32-year-old Courtney Adams of the Euwell Community in Dale County became trapped in her car after a truck swerved to miss another car that was turning into the Wood Springs Apartments and hit her.

The first person on the scene of that crash was a former volunteer firefighter. He was able to get a child who was in Adams' car out safely, but Adams was unresponsive.

Residents of the apartment complex say the intersection is dangerous and hope after this incident a turning lane will be put in.
