Dothan -- A group of soldiers donated their time in the local community as a final chapter in their warrant officer training.

They stood outside Walmart stores in Dothan, Ozark and Enterprise asking for monetary donations as well as food items.

They said it feels good to help.

"I mean, it's a great way for us to give back to the community because without a community we wouldn't have that support," soldier Lori Whiteman said.

Nearly 20 percent of Alabama residents do not have enough to eat.
