Urban/Small Stream Flood Advisory for Alabama Wiregrass Until 7:15am

An urban and small stream flood advisory has been issued for several Alabama counties of the Wiregrass.

Forecasters with the Weather Service detected “an area of strong and slow moving thunderstorms producing very heavy rainfall across the area.”

The counties under this advisory include all of Coffee, Dale, and Geneva counties as well as the northwestern portions of Houston County.

It is estimated that the heaviest of these storms could be producing rainfall at an inch an hour. This means that some places could see up to four inches of rain.
