Northwest Florida Beaches Airport has updated its future plans.
The 20-year proposal includes completing the covered parking area and approval for the cross-wind runway.
Officials say it will benefit both civil and commercial aviation customers. The long term forecast includes a passenger increase of 100 percent. That is an increase from about $400,000 to more than $800,000 passengers a year.
“"We've talked about the covered parking, the crosswind runway for general aviation. We're working with the EDA for development at the airport. We're part of the team that wants to grow Bay County,” said Parker McClellan, Director of NWFBIA.
The plans were announced at today’s Bay County “First Friday” meeting.
