USDA Forest Service Promotes New Maps

The Forest Service is engaging motorists by telling them it's best to "Know Before You Drive" to help preserve Alabama's national forests.

Motorists who want to travel through the Bankhead, Conecuh, Talladega and Tuskegee National Forests can get a free motor vehicle use map that details the routes that they need to take.

The map was created to comply with the 2005 national Travel Management Rule requiring each national forest to promote roads, trails and areas designated for legal motor vehicle travel.

The MVUM is updated each year and released to the public.
