The Saint James Girls Basketball Team got off to a fast start against UMS-Wright on Thursday. But, the Bulldogs rallied with dominating performances in the second and third quarters to take command, cruising to a 47-35 victory in a 4A South Regional Semifinal.
With the win, UMS-Wright advanced to Saturday's Regional Final to face Clarke County. The Trojans end the year with a 24-6 record.
After trailing 15-9 after the first period, the Bulldogs outscored the Trojans 14-5 in the second quarter and 13-4 in the third to take control. Carrie Crook led the Bulldogs with 16 points and McKenzie Courtney chipped in 13.
Kelly Joyner led Saint James with 17 points.
