Details as to what may have caused a deadly house fire are still under investigation.
Fire officials say they're working with the Dothan Police Department to help bring closure to the family who lost their children and their home.
Only wood frames are left of the home at 205 Ginnalou Drive just outside the circle in Dothan after a fire erupted inside.
It was here two children were killed, and three adults injured.
Fire officials say it all happened quickly.
"We received the call just after 11 last night, the first units that arrived on scene reported heavy flames shooting from the structure, heavy smoke issuing through the windows," says Chris Ethridge Battalion Chief Dothan Fire Department.
The adults tried to escape the fire.
In the yard are toys of the children who lived in the home, a grim reminder of the lives lost.
"The tragedy is, one the three injuries in one house fire two of those critical and transferred to Birmingham, but more importantly the two fatalities, two juveniles, that were inside the home, all of that occurring one space," says Chris Ethridge Battalion Chief Dothan Fire Department.
Neighbors tell me, they heard what sounded like gunfire, and when rushed outside, what they saw was this home completely engulfed in flames.
Neighbors also told me off camera, this is the same home that was involved in an armed robbery on Christmas Eve day.
In that case one person was shot.
Dothan police arrested 22 year old Devante Williams in that case. According to police reports, he and two other suspects entered the home at gunpoint.
Williams is currently in jail on a 2-hundred thousand dollar bond, while the other two suspects are still on the loose.
Police have not confirmed if the two incidents are related.
