OZARK, Ala. (AP) -- Alabama authorities have cleared two coaches at Dale County High School of criminal wrongdoing after investigating allegations that the coaches had an inappropriate relationship with a student.
Reports say Dale County District Attorney Kirke Adams decided not to file charges against either coach, though he did say one coach sent inappropriate text messages to the girl. School board records show the man accused of sending those messages, assistant football coach Al Gilmore, resigned April 24.
Authorities did not release the name of the other coach who had been investigated.
School officials had placed both coaches on paid administrative leave while the Dale County Sheriff's Department investigated and turned its findings over to the district attorney.
