Although not severe in nature, afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms brought wind, rain and lightning to parts of the Wiregrass on Tuesday evening.
One place that received rain was Troy and Pike County. The weather station at the Troy Municipal Airport reported a thunderstorm starting between 5 and 6pm, and lasting over an hour. Between 5pm and 11pm, the airport’s rain gauge reported 0.88 inches of rainfall.
Heavy rain and storms also came to the Andalusia area. The Andalusia-Opp Municipal Airport observed heavy rain and a thunderstorm starting around the 7 to 8pm hour. Between then and 11pm, Andalusia recorded 1.32 inches of rain.
There have been no confirmed reports of damage or injuries from these storms.
