It's move in weekend at troy university, and for students like Virginia, it's an exciting experience.
"I'm really excited! I'm totally so happy to finally be out of the house. I was so tired of summer already!"
"The majority of our freshman families will come this weekend and move their students in so it's just a really exciting time to welcome all the new Trojans."
Burks says while this is a thrilling time for the students, this welcome weekend is also for the student's family.
"Quite often we have a lot of first generation families so it's a big exciting time for them so normally we see a lot of family members, grandparents come, little brothers and sisters."
"This is my little brother named Trent, he's 13. Him and my dad are the movers. And then this is my little sister Bella Rose, she's 8. She helped me decorate and set my room up and make my bed.
But this kind of move requires a lot of preparation before the big day.
"It took me about 3 days to pack all my stuff. I got up at like 4:30 and got here really early. It's just been crazy and I'm really tired but I'm not even done yet."
"It took me about 2 days to pack my room. It wasn't as stressful as I thought to move in here."
"Oh, it's been about a week, no probably 2 weeks...trying to pack up everything, buy everything, trying to wait for the sales to come on, but we did it!"
And now that the move in weekend is almost over, they can get ready for the next phase because classes will begin Wednesday august 15th.
