Troy U. Students' Art at Wiregrass Museum of Art

TROY – Artwork by students in a Collaborative Studio Art class at Troy University is currently on display at the Wiregrass Museum of Art in Dothan.

The exhibit, “Not So Self-Portrait Self-Portraits,” is an exploration of relationship, self-reflection, personal iconography and the human desire of “knowing thyself.” It features original collaborations from the 13 students in the class.

Students whose work is on exhibit are:

Heather B. Alleman, a senior design, technology and innovation major from Troy;
Devan G. Beitel, a senior design, technology and innovation major from Lincoln;
Chanel L. Blake, a senior design, technology and innovation major from Troy;
Taylor M. Daughtry, a senior design, technology and innovation major from Troy;
Stephanie R. Davenport, a senior studio art major from Eclectic;
Melanie S. Deacon, a senior studio art major from Dothan;
Jordan M. Hammond, a senior design, technology and innovation major from Demopolis;
Bora Kang, a junior design, technology and innovation major from South Korea;
Robert McRae, a senior communication arts from Madison;
Anna L. Rhodes, a senior design, technology and innovation major from Purcellville, Va.;
Helena M. Shirley, a senior design, technology and innovation major from Greenville;
Candace M. Turlington, a senior studio art major from Troy; and
Caitlin L. Ventiere, a senior design, technology and innovation major from Daleville.

“I’m very proud of my Collaborative Studio class and the work produced this semester,” said Greg Skaggs, associate professor of art and design. “I hope that those in Dothan and the surrounding communities will go by and see the fine work our students are doing.”

The exhibit will run through March 9.
