Troy Residents Anticipate Draft Beer Choice if Bill is Signed

PIKE COUNTY -- The Alabama House of Representatives and Alabama Senate both signed off on a bill which would allow restaurants and bars in Pike County that already have a license to sell alcohol to sell draft beer.

The bill was passed by both houses on Thursday night. Local restaurant owners said the benefit is more profitability for their business, as well as more variety in which beers they offer.

Business owners also said that the ability to sell draft beer could entice more bars and restaurants to relocate to Pike County.

The final step for this bill is a signature from Gov. Robert Bentley. The city of Enterprise is also awaiting Gov. Bentley's signature which would allow certain establishments to also sell draft beer.
