UPDATE: Victim Identified in Fatal Troy Shooting

24-year-old Tiffany Upshaw, now behind bars, is charged with murder, after allegedly killing the man she was dating.

Police identified him as 29-year-old Melvin Scott.

“The only thing that I know of now, it was an ongoing argument domestic related,” said Lt. Bryan Weed.

One other person was injured during the altercation.

The apartment belongs to neither the victim nor the suspect.

The Troy Police Department arrested 24-year-old Tiffany Rene Upshaw of Troy for Murder this morning, according to information released by Chief Jimmy Ennis.

Troy Police Department officers responded to a report of a person shot at approximately 6:10 a.m. this morning in the 100 Block of Woodland Hills Drive.

Officers made contact with two victims at the scene, along with the suspect Upshaw.

One victim had been shot in the hand and was transported to Troy Regional Medical Center. The second victim was pronounced dead at the scene and had been in a dating relationship with the suspect. Upshaw was transported to the Troy Police Department and after a subsequent investigation, Detectives obtained a felony warrant for Murder on Upshaw. Upshaw was processed and transported to Pike County Jail on $100,000 bond. This is the second murder of the year for the City of Troy.

This case is still under investigation by the Troy Police Department.

TROY, AL - Troy Police are investigating a shooting that left one person dead and another wounded.

Lieutenant Bryan Weed says the shooting happened around 6:00 a.m at Woodland Hills Apartments.

One person is confirmed dead.

A suspect has been taken into custody.
