Tropical Storm Hector Weakens in the Pacific

Tropical Storm Hector has weakened as it swirls in the Pacific off the coast of Mexico.

Hector's maximum sustained winds decreased to near 40 mph (65 kph) early Monday with little change in strength expected over the next two days.

The storm is centered about 345 miles (555 kilometers) south-southwest of the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California peninsula and moving west near 7 mph (11 kph).
