Durden Outdoor Displays is the proud to be involved with community events, such as the Tri-State BBQ Festival. As the 2011 Entertainment Sponsor, Durden Outdoor Displays is pleases to announce the stage times for the Tri-State BBQ Festival

Activities SCHEDULE (General)
FRIDAY April 8, 2011 - Festival gates open at 5pm for spectators/general public. Concessions and beer sales begin, and the "Vendor Village" opens Live music, free children's inflatables and fun from 5pm-10pm. The BBQ Bash yard party is tonight, featuring a concert by The BopCats, Dothan’s favorite classic rock band. BRING A LAWN CHAIR!

SATURDAY April 9, 2011 – Kids Cook team participants meeting in the Oncology Supply Tent at 8:00 AM.

Gates open to the spectators/general public at 10:00. Music on the main stage all day! Publix Cooking Demos, Vendor Village, Oncology Supply’s Kids area (inflatables and crafts), VFW Car Show, carnival rides and games, military displays, Carmike Cinemas free popcorn,

Blue Bell Ice Cream samples and more open from 10am- until approximately 8:00 pm.

Pig Tales winning entries will be read on the main stage throughout the day by sponsor Five Star Credit Union.

Adult Teams to do turn in of Chicken to judges building at 11:00 am.

Kids Cook competitors turn in chicken halves to Oncology Supply tent at 11:30 AM.

At noon, teams will turn in their ribs to the judges building, and at
1:00 PM will turn in their pork butts for scoring. The final turn-in is at 2:00 pm with beef brisket.

Spectators- At 2:30, Kelley’s Meats People's Choice and Southern Hospitality competitions will begin. Everyone in the gate from 2:00 pm- 4:30 pm will receive a ballot. Spectators will go from team to team site (participating teams noted with a special flag) and sample any and all BBQ meats available. They will vote for their favorite BBQ as well as the best Southern Hospitality. Judge the BBQ on taste and the Hospitality on how the team made you feel while visiting them.

The ballot box will be removed at 4:30 to tally the votes, so make sure to take time from eating to turn in your vote!

Kids Cook winners announced around 3:00 on the main stage.
During the afternoon, judges will be tallying their score sheets, with the FBA reps calculating the winners and prize payouts. 5:30 awards presented to winning teams, as well as the People's Choice winners and the Southern Hospitality winner. Nearly $10,000 in money awarded!

Rib Ticklin’ Comedy Contest finalists will compete on the main stage after the awards. This is a people’s choice vote system- winner wins $500. Paper ballots to be handed out at the gate. Beer tent and food still available till close.

Hard Rockin' fun with American Greed in concert on the main stage at 8:00 pm. You haven't heard rock like this since the early 80's! You're going to love it! Your ticket to Saturday's festival is your admission ticket to the concert--- no additional entry fee. Bring a lawn chair if you like, but no coolers allowed. Beer, soft drinks and food available for purchase. Rides and games continue till close (10:00 pm)

Advance tickets are $5.00, $10.00 at the gate for general admission, $5.00 at the gate for seniors and students, advance combo ticket for Friday and Saturday night is $8.00, children six and under are free.
