Traffic Stop Leads to Large Seizure of Pills and Cash

On Friday, August 8th Deputy Biernacki observed a green Buick Le Sabre traveling southbound on US Hwy 331 that was unable to maintain its lane and caused a semi-truck to run off the road almost causing an accident.

The Deputy was able to conduct a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, 50-year-old Ms. Jo Anna Parsons, of Ebro, Florida.

A warrants check made through dispatch revealed that Parsons had a warrant for her arrest on the charges of battery and trespassing out of Washington County, Florida. As the deputy went to make the arrest, Parsons became argumentative and refused to exit her vehicle. After speaking with Parsons further, she was placed under arrest.

A search of Parsons person and property revealed that she had over 3,300 Oxycodone, over 400 Clonazepam and over $5,400 in cash. All the medication found was packaged for the purpose of sale.

Parsons was charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute; a second degree felony. She was transported and lodged at the Walton County Department of Corrections where she was given a $20,000 bond.
