If you're unemployed, finding a job may be at the top of your "to do" list.

Well don't fret, there are several places you can turn to that are offering a free helping hand.

Furthering your education can always be an added benefit.

Those without a high school diploma may want to pursue their GED and you can do that for free at Living Hope Community Center.

"We'll supply most of the things that they need, pencils, paper, notebooks, copies of resources, if they have a copy of the GED book we'd like for them to bring it, if not we'll have a copy in the office," said GED Coordinator Jeff Woodhem.

The classes last three hours and they're held every Saturday.

"All they need to bring is willingness to learn, " said Woodhem.

" We offer, job readiness training, basic computer skills, academic preparation, several different programs that pertain to career development," said Alfred Saliba 's Community Career Development Coordinator Lawrence Keener.

If you already have that part squared away then it's time to start applying.

"We have some computers here that they can get online and job search through job link, we also help them if we know of jobs or people hiring," said Living Hope Community Center Coordinator Michelle Michel.

Now if you know you need a job but you're unsure about what kind you want, then there's help for that too.

"We come in here and we sit down, I have an outline that I do and I ask certain questions, like what do you want to do and why and where do you want to live. We have 10 year data projections that tell where the jobs will be and which one will be in demand," said Keener.

Now for your resume remember:

"Be thorough but don't over do it, don't over kill, two pages I believe is enough, if you've got a lot of jobs that don't have continuity, two or three months, I wouldn't put those on there, I would also make it employer friendly by putting phone numbers, nobody likes to look on the internet for phone numbers to make your resume creditable. There's 3 or 4 hundred for one job, if you have an email address that's not professional that says prettytoes@yahoo.com that could get it in the trash pretty quick."

And for your interview, "present your best," said Pastor Lyle Peluso of Vineyard Church.

"Girls don't wear cleavage, don't wear shirts that show your cleavage. Guys don't buss and rock the sag, make sure your professional and leave your personal ego out the door," said Keener.

And last but not least, "Never give up, just never give up," said Michel.

The GED classes start July 16th, so if your interested stop by the center and sign up and good luck on your job search.
