The Wiregrass Electric Cooperative had its 8th annual emergency preparedness meeting Thursday.
Area emergency management agencies use the event to coordinate information. First responders talk about the upcoming hurricane season. Attendees also got to tour the co-op's headquarters.
"We work closely with our emergency management agencies and our first responders. We try to keep these relationships and have a plan in place before the storm hits. so we can be able to respond quickly, more efficiently and get life back to normal as quickly as possible," said Brad Kimbro, Wiregrass Electric's Chief Operating Officer.
Wiregrass Electric Co-op provides energy to more than 23,000 homes in southeast Alabama.
