The Poplar Head Farmers Market is Back For 2014

Dozens came out to the Dothan Nurseries to support local farmers and business owners. Vendors from across the Wiregrass showcased, bread, fresh fruit, woks, and naturally based soaps, lotions and perfumes.

Earlier this morning Wiregrass residents socialized and shopped in support of local farmers.

The Poplar Head Farmers Market kicked off its sixth annual season for the public. Located in the heart of historic old Dothan, consumers were buying locally grown food and specialty items. Music and children activities were available as well.

"Local Farmers are out there every single day. They've got there small business that they're running and they have an opportunity to come out to the Poplar Head Farmer's Market sell to the local community and get some face time with them and come back again next week and do it all over again," said Jill Williams, the Executive Director of The Downtown Group.

The Poplar Head Farmer's Market will be held each Saturday through the end of July from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Dothan Civic Center parking lot.
