The Downtown Group Presents "Foster Fest"

Big crowds are expected in Dothan this Friday night for a free downtown celebration.

"We've been using some social media and the response has been very positive and we're thrilled to market downtown so I think between the twelve vendors that we have lined up and the others inquiring, we'll have a lot for people to come see."

The Downtown Group is proud to announce the newest downtown street festival, Foster Fest.
It will feature everything from street vendors to antique cars and even live music.

"Men are bringing their cars out to show and demonstrate, we're gonna have two bands in each of the green spaces on downtown Foster as well as food vendors and the merchants are staying open later for them to be able to participate as well."

This event will give many residents a reason to venture into the downtown area, in turn, helping local businesses.

"I'm excited because it brings the focus back to downtown. It showcases the street that is completed almost and all of the businesses on that street."

"We just opened about two weeks ago and so this is my first time to be a part of anything downtown and yes we're extremely excited. We're just hoping that Dothan is as excited as we are that they'll show their support and come on down here."

"Well I've been down here three and a half years and we've seen a lot grow and I'm excited about having something down here that will get people down every time we have something."

"We're trying to get it boosted up and have different activities and now it's actually happening."

Wilkins says Foster Fest is just part of the big picture in helping to promote the growth of downtown Dothan.
