A ceremony held earlier this week welcomed a partnership aimed at ending the physician shortage.
The Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine teamed up with Jackson Hospital in Montgomery.
Starting next August, 20 students from the college will work in the hospital.
This opportunity will allow students to broaden their education by getting real-life experience.
"I think it is an exciting opportunity we already have a really good partnership with SAMC too so to reach out and have another good relationship with another hospital is great," said Callie George, student at Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Jackson Hospital employees hope this partnership is a way to recruit recent graduates to their hospital.
