SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. (AP) -- The Youth Conservation Corps is hiring workers between 15 and 19 years old for its summer employment program.
Rudy Evenson, Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area spokesman, says the deadline to apply for a job in the federal program is May 4. The jobs pay $7.50 an hour , hours are from a.m. to 3 p.m. and some weekend work may be required.
Chattahoochee River Superintendent Patty Wissinger says the program creates future environmental stewards and is a great opportunity for teens to see what it's like to work with the National Park Service.
Evenson says crews will work on trail maintenance projects and participate in environmental education programs
