Teen Arrested after Online Post to Blow Up School

SARASOTA, Fla. (AP) -- A 15-year-old boy is in custody after authorities say he posted a threat to blow up a southwest Florida high school on Facebook.

A joint investigation by several agencies led to the teen's arrest Friday. He was a student at Manatee High School last year.

The Sarasota Herald-Tribune reports detectives did not find evidence that the threats would be carried out. According to the school district, the teen did not have the means or intent to carry out the threat.

The teen has been removed from the school. It's unclear if he will be allowed to return to the school district.

School officials will take precautionary safety measures when school starts Monday.
