A Pensacola woman faces grand theft and possession of marijuana charges she allegedly shoplifted from a Santa Rosa Mall store.
According to a press release from the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO), a theft in progress call at the Dillard’s in the Santa Rosa Mall came in on Saturday evening. A deputy heard the call, and soon spotted a car matching the suspect’s car description in the Food World Parking lot across the street.
The deputy made contact with Shaquita Booker, 22, who was driving the car. An OCSO K-9 was called to the scene and was alerted to the presence of narcotics inside Booker’s car. The search turned up marijuana and bags of clothing, including nearly $1,000 dollars worth of Polo shirts believed stolen from Dillards.
Video surveillance revealed Booker had help with the crime from a man inside the store, but his identity is not yet known.
Deputies took possession of more than $3,300 worth of clothing.
