News 4 has just received confirmation that the suspect,33-year-old Opatrick Fitzgerald Humphrey passed away this afternoon just after 3:30pm.
Reports right now show officers acted in self-defense.
Officials say they're sending Humphrey's body to Montgomery for an autopsy.
The officers involved in the case have been put on administrative leave.
News 4 will have more details as information becomes available.

On Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at approximately 4:30am, the Headland Police received a call requesting medical assistance at 213 Hollon Street.
The call was received stating a subject was having possible seizures, suffered from schizophrenia and was off his medication.
When medics arrived, both medics were assaulted and requested officers to respond.
When the first officer arrived, the subject ran to the patrol car, began beating on the driver side window, as the officer attempted to back up, the subject opened the driver side door, and started assaulting the officer while dragging the officer out of the patrol car.
The officer discharged one round from his service weapon missing the subject where he fled to the rear of a residence.
A second officer arrived on scene, heard the initial gunshot and saw the first officer lying on the ground.
As the backup officer went toward the first officer on the ground, the subject came from the side of a residence and began to charge the backup officer.
The officer gave multiple commands for the subject to stop and get on the ground.
As the backup officer attempted to back away from the subject, the subject continued to charge the backup officer.
When the subject got into close contact with the officer, the officer fired one round striking the subject in the middle torso.
The subject was treated at the scene by emergency personal and was transported to a local hospital.
Both officers and medics were transported to a local hospital for treatment and were later released.
Headland Police Department was assisted by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office and Abbeville Police Department.
The investigation has been turned over to the Alabama Bureau of Investigations.

One man is shot and two officers injured in Headland.
At about 4:30 Tuesday morning medics responded to a home on Hollon Street to transport a male, schizophrenic patient.
Paramedics say he was not cooperative and jumped on a medic.
Emergency responders then called Headland Police for assistance.
One officer arrived and was dragged out of the patrol car by the patient. The officer fired his weapon. The suspect was not shot at this time.
Police say as the second officer arrived on the scene he heard a gun shot and the suspect charged him.
The officer then shot the suspect in what officials are calling self defense.
"In this situation the officer was retreating and backing up, ordering him to stop, trying to give him a chance to stop, but he was running and charging at him. The officer said he waiting till he got right there on him, and he couldn't go back any further before he discharged,” says Headland Police Department Chief Mark Jones.
Police say the suspect was transported to the Southeast Alabama Medical Center, and reports say he is stable after undergoing surgery.
Both officers had minor injuries. It's protocol to transport any injured officer to the hospital.
Officials say the 2 officers have been placed on administrative leave with pay.
The Alabama Bureau of Investigation is handling this case.

A suspect has been shot by police in Headland. Initial reports said the man was dead, but News 4 has learned that he is being treated at a Dothan Hospital.
The shooting happened on Holland Road. Police say there was an altercation between them and the suspect.
We will update this story as soon as we have more information available.
