Summer Produce May be Late, but it's Actually Better Than Last Years

You may have heard the saying "better late than never.”

Well it turns out late meant better for local fresh produce.

Among the best of the season so far are tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, zucchini, peas and butter-beans.

The only crop that really struggled with the wet spring weather was snap beans.

The late crops came just in time for the 4th of July, which is the busiest week of the year for area farmers.
