Summer Doesn't Mean a Break for Some School Staff Members

DALEVILLE -- For the custodial staff, like Tina Buckhalter and Gloria McIntosh at Windham Elementary, the end of the school year just means the beginning of the hard work.

Custodians work four days a week for ten hours a day lifting desks, waxing floors and scrubbing bathrooms.

Even though it is hard and tiring work, custodians say they know how important it is to have a clean environment.

"Making sure we have the proper cleaning environment for our children because that helps in development of the child," Gloria McIntosh said. "if you have good smelling classrooms, good clean bathrooms."
